The Wiper Arms are rusting. I want to remove them

The Wiper Arms on my 1994 S-10 are rusting. I want to remove them to sand and repaint them. How do they come off the splined connection to the wiper motor? I do not find any latches under the wiper arms.

I tried this solution of bending the wiper arm at its hinge point and pushing down. the wiper arm will not budge from the splined drive wheel.

The arms themselves are bolted down to the car at the base. Once you pop the hood, you should be able to see the bolts, or you may need to pull back the plastic cover to get to the bolts....

The motor is under there . Plastic push pins hold the cowling . Open the hood after removing the wiper arms . Plastic caps on the wiper arms come off , 1/2 or 13mm nut has to be removed . Then rock the arms back an fourth till they come off . There may be a video on youtube showing how . Check it out .

How do you remove the windshield wiper arms

The wiper arms have a push in tab at the very bottom at the fitting that is pressed into the wiper linkage below the screen. Use a flat headed screwdriver to pry out the tab. Once out the arm can be pulled right off. Now you can remove the cowling screen

I have noticed over the years that mini vans always seem to rust on the hood first. So factors to speed up the rust is you location if its in the North the mag chloride that put on the roads in the winter can rust out a vehicle. You can take it to a body shop and have them sand it down shoot a coat of primer and repaint it. Or get a new hood. I hope this helps please rate this thank you

Wipers on 2002 Lincoln quit working

Hi, your windshield wiper motor needs to be replaced. The wiper motor on your car in located under the hood. Follow the windshield. At the bottom towards the center, under the hood, you will see a large piece of plastic that runs from the center to the fender. This needs to be removed to get to the motor. Once removed, you will see the motor the "arms" attach too. Unfortunately the "transmission" or arms have to be removed from the motor before the three motor screws come off. If there is rust at the contact point, or if the contact point is seized from corrosion/rust, try a rust loosening lubricant, but don't bend the arms from using too much force. Also be careful not to crack the windshield if your using a breaker bar under the arm to disengage it from the motor. After the arms are disconnected, remove the three screws holding the motor in place, and remove the electrical connection to the motor. When buying a new or rebuilt motor, make sure to bring the bad one in to compare, especially the length of the part where the arms attach. This has to be exactly the same, not longer or shorter. Prices around here in the midwest run about $65 for new motor.

My mk4 golf wiper arms are stopping in the middle of the screen many

Its most likely the wiper mechansim which rusts and jams. You need to take off the wiper arms by removing bolts and pulling off (quite hard). You then take plastic cowling off the car, start with a small knife passenger side and lever off, the rest will unclip as you pull. You will then see the mechanism. It is removed by 3 bolts, unhook the motor and pull the mech out. You will then see which parts are stiff and use a bit of WD40. You may have to take the whole thing apart and clean with wire brush. I tried but still didn't work so had to buy one from a scrap yard.

Hope this helps
