Question about 2001 Lincoln LS
I had the problem with my 01 lincoln ls a/c. the mechanic told me i can keep it there for a week and they can figure out whats wrong with it. but they act like i have so many cars. when i turn on the a/c it blows out just hot air. they said it still has fre-on so it doesnt need more. they think it can be something electrical. so i dont know what else to think of that makes the a/c blow out hot air. at first i noticed that it would blow out hot air on the driver side and the passenger side was still cool. but now its just hot air everywhere.
I had a similar problem with my Corolla. My compessor clutch wasn't engaging when I turned on the AC and the fuse was good. I suspected the worst and prepared to face a replacement of a compressor, but found out the fault was an AC relay switch.
This link from Autozone, will give you a picture and price of the switch:
My relay switch was located under the hood. Check your users manual.
I hope this is your fix... a compressor is costly!
