Car died while i was driving it

I have a 1995 Eagle Talon i was driving and my battery light came on. But the battery is two weeks old. Then my radio shut off and on, when i would turn my ac on the radio would shut off then i would turn the ac off the radio would come on. then my srs light came on. so i went to work left that night . is tarted up just fine then the same thing my lights became dim and my cart started puttering and shut off on me. please help.

Likely your battery was mis-diagnosed and replaced. Your symptoms are consistent with as bad alternator or other charging system malfunction. Have the battery re-charged and then have the system checked out. Quick-check is to put a volt meter on the battery and check volts with engine running. With no accessories on, charge rate should be about 13-14 volts. With all accessories on, charge rate should go no lower than 13 and should not continue to drop over time.

Your alternator is not charging at full amps.

Your alternator could be OK:
1. It could be a loose fanbelt ($12) that runs the alternator pulley.
2. The fanbelt may be dirty or have a coating of oil on it.
3. Replace the alternator fanbelt if either of these (or similar) is suspected.

Your alternator ($80) could be bad:
1. Take your car to an Auto Supply store (AutoZone?).
2. They will check the alternator in the car for free.
3. Call ahead to make sure the store will check it (free)
4. I think Sears Auto also checks it free.

95 Eagle Talon stalls out after driving for a while. Has new ignition coil, plugs and wires, computer and fuel pump but I've been told it has something to do with the fuel line, any help?


I have the same year and stalls out occasionally in the beginning and now I can barely drive a quarter mile. All of the parts you listed I've tested and appear ok but what I'm thinking is not fuel because it would act crazy gasping for fuel but the camshaft and crankshaft sensors. If either of these are failing then the engine stops firing and dies. Also could be the alternator or battery. If not enough charge then the car could die. Mine dies like I turned the key off (and don't think it's ignition switch) and gauges all just drop to zero still sounds like engine is sort of on until I finally coast close to stopping and then dies and oil light comes on.

My 1995 eagle talon dies while driving,but starts back up with no problem.the car has a new fuel filter and plugs and plug wires.


Fuel pump could be acting up i had a Volvo do same thing i had to make a set of long hoses to go from engine to inside the car so i could run car down the road and monitor fuel pressure that's how i tested it, before buying expensive part you should test fuel pump under work load.

1994 eagle talon - no power - no dome light was driving, car stalled out, now won't start just bought last week


This sounds like the battery is shot, or dead. Either that, or the main or alternator fuse blew. This is most likely a dead battery though. Install a new battery, and everything should be back to normal.

I was driving my 1998 talon and the motor died.


Could be lots of things...bad grounds for battery, no spark to plugs bad plug wires, bad fuel filter or pump.

95 Eagle Talon "Power Surges" When Running


its related.. its a problem somewhere in the fuel intake system. you should have this checked out. If there isnt any loss of power but just dies and reves at the same engine speed ,, have your transmission or torque converter looked at.

Start with oxygen sensor and than work your way to the computer. there are several sensors. it can also be your fuel pump. that sometimes happens when either pump or fuel filter are clogged or broken
