Question about 1998 Subaru Legacy
Solution depends on exact cause of the leak. In general, patches, wraps or other glue type repairs don't work anywhere ahead of the cat or muffler. Pressure and temp is too high there. Pipe repairs can be done by welding but usually that is just as expensive as parts unless leak is in a easy location to get to. So, best and most reliable repair is to replace whatever has leak.
