Replaced ignition on honda element and now the anti theft wont let me start my car

you can't, this is manufacturer installed antitheft so you can't just replace an ignition on a stolen vehicle. When you take it to Honda they will run the VIN and if it is not stolen they will fix it for you.

My van was recently stolen and i put a new ignition in but now the car dosent start

if everything was changed correctly then you may have to have the new key programed to the bcm(anti-theft) so it will recognize the new key and switch,if it has this.if not then something was over looked when changing,

I changed the ignition and igntion switch on my 2003 chevy impala and my car wont start now !! Help Please

You have changed a component that needs to be recognized by the ECU otherwise the ECU tells the immobilizer that there is a temper with ignition wires and car will not start as it thinks it is being stolen. Get the car to a garage to reprogram the ECU to recognize the new ignition.

01 chevy malibu - jacked front of car up to change brakes, when done now the car won't start; I only get a check engine light.

your security system could of locked up thinking that the car was being stolen, try this put your key in the ignition turn on the key till all the lights come on and leave it on for 10 minutes after that turn the key off for 3 seconds and then try to start this should unlock the security system if that is what happened. hope this helps

The car is a 2001 chev impala. At times the security light comes on for the ignition cut off with no ignition start up problems. Then with no warning the car will not start. Which means I have to reset it...

I have an o3 ford escape with an aftermarket autopage remote start system.when i try to use the remote start it flashes the parking lights and all the accesories fire up but will not ingauge the starter....

the issue is the securilock system I installed one in my 03. You need a spare coded key (one that starts the vehicle) and a Bulldog 791 kit. ths will store the spare key and tell the vehicle it is not being stolen. Its the only way unless you want to leave your key in the ignition. BTW, the Theft light is on when you engage the remote started w/o the key in the ignition, Been there.

Start up problem

I had this happen to me once and it was the ignition switch and it being a sunday night i converted the whole ignition system to toggle swiches just so i could get to work the next day. ofcourse i never changed it back and my truck was stolen.

Truck will not start because the anti theft is on , will start once but when you shut it off it won't start for hour or so later

your ignition cylinder or key have worn down and so every time you put your key in a certain way things dont always match up perfectly thus the vehicle thinks it is being stolen and shuts down the fuel
