Question about 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier
THE ETS LIGHT ON INDICATES A PROBLEM WITH THE ENHANCED TRACTION SYSTEM. THIS IS ALSO KNOW AS ABS OR ANTILOCK BRAKES. THIS SYSTEM IS TO PREVENT WHEEL LOCKUP DURING HEAVY BRAKING THUS ALLOWING DRIVER TO MAINTAIN DIRECTIONAL CONTROL DURING HARD BRAKING MANEUVERS. UNFORTUNATELY THIS SYSTEM REQUIRES A SCAN TOOL TO ACCESS FAULT CODES IN THE SYSTEM AND TO INSURE PROPER PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION. MANY INDEPENDANT REPAIR FACILITIES HAVE THIS CAPABILITY. GOOD LUCK TO YOU!
