My Golf 1.4 S series reg Sept 2000 has been

My Golf 1.4 S series reg Sept 2000 has been leaking water into the left side rear foot well. I have blown air through the drainage tube leading from the sun roof. That seemed to have fixed, but no it still leaks. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

IT COULD POSSIBLY BE A BAD SEAL AROUND THE WINDSHIELD CAUSING THE WATER TO RUN DOWN THE PILLAR ON THE SIDE AND ONTO THE FLOOR.

2002 volkswagen golf gti has a leak in the passerger foot well

hi from uk a common problem with leaks into foot wells are as rain runs down w/screen and inti the bulkhead area below w/screen accesable with bonnet open ? this water runs to either side to a drain hole and onto road via a rubber hose attached to these drains the bottom of hoses are flat so as to let water flow out but not inwards ok so far ?? now leaves and dust etc are sometimes carried to these drains resulting in eventual clogging at bottom and top of hoses so water collects in pools eventually finding its way into car ? take a look at these and ensure hoses are clear ??

2002 vw golf rear windshield washer

the washer pipe will have blown appart.this happens if you opperate the rear washer when it is frozen.it will either be off in the tailgate usually when this happens there is water around the catch when you open the tailgate.or in the headlining in the left rear, have a feel and see if the headlining is wet.to avoid this reoccuring use a good screenwash with frost protection.

The sunroof drainage gets blocked.

your footwells will fill with water - even under your seats right to the back seats footwells

See two 10mm holes in front sides when sunroof is open.
a) push a flexible cable down from the top - it comes out just behind the front wheels. (use electric three core cable - or TV aerial cable - a hanger is too short) - you need about a metre and a half)
b) remove the inner mudgaurd behind the front wheels (2 screws) you will see the end of the plastic drainage pipes - remove the blocked black rubber cup at the end of these - why they are there is anybody's guess)
