First check the cable from the accellerator is moving the throttle linkage on the engine. If your cable has broken you will not get any response from the pedal.

Replace cam position sensor


The Atos has a timing sensor located at the bottom of the engine by the cambelt drive sprocket (gear). The drive sprocket is bolted to the crankshaft with a timing plate. The sensor is placed next to the timing belt.There are no cam timing sensors on the cylinder head. This is a very basic engine.

Our Hyundai AMICA has the check engine light showing but the car drives fine apart from spluttering under harsh acceleration before picking up and driving ok.


get it hooked up to a scanner to see what codes the computer has in it. any auto parts store will usually do this free of charge for you.
