These are the posibility of creating noise in your front wheel when you go over the bump.
1) check axle drive if the rubber boot are broken, if so, replce axle drive bothside.
2) check the strut shock absorber if the knot by the hood are loose. To check, step on by your door and start jumpping, then you could hear it.
3) check all the rubber bushing or the linkage knots and screws from the stabilizer to the suspention. just all those have a bushing underneath the car, or just try to tightening all the screws.ok

How do i know if the sway bar on my 1990 19e mercedes needs to be replaced

If its a sharp, quick rapping noise and you hear it going up driveways and hitting reflectors on the road I'd say end link bushing or frame mount bushings which wear out due to oil contamination usually. Also check for loose license frame or ratting pieces up front.less likely but also check suspension bushings for wear.Oil deterioration is a big concern with a high mile Mercedes with prolong leaking

I have a 96 caddy deville, when going over bumps or seams in the road it is a loud clunk type sound. A GM dealer checked and the compressor works and both rear struts are new. Could this be a leveler...

Hello: Check the stablizer links on the front suspension, they have been a high failure rate item. The noise resembles loose lumber on the bed of a pickup truck.

I hear the front suspension rattle when i go over pot holes or cracks in the road. At first it was just the drivers side now i can hear it on both sides. What could this be?

could be ball joints, bad shocks, loose brake calipers or a broken coil spring although the last one would also show some sagging of the suspension.

I suspect it 's balljoints.

Saab 93 - noisy when going over bumps on the road.

Have you tried driving over a bump whilst also applying the brakes? (Right foot on gas, left gently on brake - with no one behind you!) If the noise goes away, then it could be the brake pads that are not fitted correctly. Only posting this, as this just happened to mine...the mechanic took it over bumps and noise was there. Applied brakes whilst going over bump, noise went away. Replaced badly fitted rear pads (had been bodged by another garage) and the problem was solved.
