ABS light has come on. Will it be just the brake fluid needs filling?

Sharon,I suggest you check the Brake Fluid Level: The ABS light may come on if the brake fluid is low. Verify that the brake fluid reservoir is filled to the proper level. If it's low, top it off to perhaps fix the problem.

Have you checked your brake fluid level? If it gets too low you can get air into the brake lines which will cause the ABS system to malfunction. There should also be a wire connected to the brake fluid tank that tells you when it is low but if the wire is disconnected or the sensor not working it will not turn on the BRAKE light indicating it is low. If it is low and you fill it and the problem continues, you will need to have the brakes bled to get the air out of the system.

Do you mean they are spongy or they quit altogether? If spongy, you probably have very low fluid in the reservoir and you are pumping air into the system (fill the reservoir and try again - however, may need a brake bleed, which is tricky with ABS systems). If the ABS is failing, you should see error codes (using a good code reader that will read the ABS ones). Lastly, your brake master cylinder may need to be replaced.

Sounds like more than one problem, but make sure brake fluid is up first. Then check your tranny fluid after you fill brake fluid. You never want to run low on brake fluid, otherwise you won't have any brakes.

ok about the abs is possible that the abs cable that goes the the brake caliper is not good.about the brake light check brake fluid level filled up also check the sensor on the brake fluid container also check any malfuntioning wire connection corosive plugs.about the ac check compressor ad freon in order to kick on check the relay or fuses or the compressor is no good

As the pads wear & caliper piston moves out,
fluid level goes down,not an issue

The ABS light you should already know is a Vehicle
System Malfunction & we have had those or similar
lights on the dash of all vehilces for 30 years
So nothing new at all. Check for codes,diagnose &
have the ABS Braking System repaired

Nope - the master cylinder sends fluid to the ABS system, which then the fluid is sent to the brakes. It's all one system - you cannot eliminate the ABS without rerouting the brake lines to bypass it.

JEEP VECHICLES 2001 MODELS AND UP HAS TO BE BLED USING A DRB BLEED TOOL.YOU HAVE TOW VECHICLE IN.MOST TIME YOU CAN TRY MANUAL BLEEDING BUT BRAKES WILL BE SPONGY AND ABS LIGHTS WILL TURN ON.THE DEALERSHIP HAS TO BLEED IN ORDER TO GET GOOD SOLID BRAKES AGAIN.

hi, please check all around the wheels for brake fluid leaks. inspect the brake fluid res. if this is empty it needs to be filled to the level and bled of air out of the system. this can also be the wheel bearings (need tightening).or ABS wheel sensors ( OPEN CIRCUIT). this fault may need to be cleared by computer MAIN DEALER. hope this is usefull. gerry

Be aware that if the (BRAKE!) light is on you are probably low on brake fluid and while your brakes are still working properly, there is a possible fluid leak somewhere that is going to causse them to not work at all. When this light is on it is serious. Although the sensor in the master cylinder that tells this light to come on is probably the answer, as they tend to malfunction in your vehicle. Check your brake fluid immediately, and fill it if it is legitimately low.
If the (ABS) brake light is on it is probably an ABS speed sensor in the vehicle that is bad, If the abs light is on have a service center do a diagnostic scan to verify which sensor is bad.
