If the timing has become very advanced, the knock could be predetonation of fuel.
the engine will also overheat .
take it to a mechanic before damage to the engine or catalytic converter happens.

I have a 92 accord that the heater sounds like it is running but only puts heat out when it wants to mostly if it is just idling. My hubby says its the blower motor resister but my common sense says t

It sounds like the blower resister is the problem. They are much easier to replace than the blower moter and normally pretty cheap so I would try that first.

Engine just quit without warning. No unusual sounds. Starter turns, but engine will not fire

well if the serpetene belt if frayed when was the timing belt last changed if that belt breaks it will not run and would have shut off a sign would be the engine spins over fast on some you can see the camshaft threw the hole where you add the oil if so have someone crank it over while you watch the cam

I bought a 1987 chevy C3500 w/350ci engine. When I start driving it the engine is really weak and the "choke" light on the dash always stay on. The power gradually increases as I drive the truck. Aft

The choke light is connected to the choke and the oil pressure switch.
The choke coil is heated electrically and from the engine heat to make it open.
The heater could be faulty and the choke is not opening fast enough.
It may have had a Rochester Quadrajet when new.

Cls 500 is leaning to left u can hear a whistling sound when rising

I just bought a preowned CLS 500 and recently noticed the same issue. Whistling after I start and stop the engine. "Car too low" notice if I hit a speed bump too fast. Etc.
I'm guessing it has something to do with a leak in the air suspension.

Did you ever resolve your problem?

It over heated and now wont start

how bad an overheat are we talking?? if you have driven the car for a long distance and the engine overheating you could have some serious damage done ...when you try to start does the engine sound to be turning over unusually fast ? if so you could have compression issues,,,

When you fill the water header tank the water goes straight into sump as fast as you put it in where would I find where the problem lies this is a ford transit 2.4 deisel engine

I would put good money on a cracked cylinder head. If you're really unlucky, a cracked block (Both unusual in the summer!).

First off, do a compression test. You could take out the glowplugs and use a compression tester there, but by the sound of it, a thumb over each hole is going to tell you something. Whatever the issue, even if it's a blown head gasket (and what you describe soulds far more serious than that) the cylinder head is clearly going to have to come off. From there, it's a matter of looking at what is revealed.

Anything is possible, But first check your oil and make sure nothing is hitting any moving parts on your motor. Like your pulleys were your belt runs. After you do this repost with results. If there is no oil return to place you had the oil change done.

2.5 tbi sounds like air chisel hitting anvil, very loud, very fast, engine still runs fine. Was intermittent, now constant. engine load does not change sound.

You mention that engine load does not change the sound. How about engine speed? My guess is that the frequency of the "chisel" sound increases with engine speed.

Has this engine been run without any oil? How much oil is in it right now?

From your description, it sounds to me like a burnt up engine bearing (rod or main, it hardly matters). It could even be excessive wear between a wrist pin and piston or piston slap. In any case, it sounds like you have been driving like this for some time, which means that rebuilding this engine is probably no longer an option (especially if it is a main or rod bearing).

If it is a burnt bearing, you'll probably need to look for a remanufactured or salvage engine. In a '91 GA, unless you find a good salvage engine for less than $500, it probably isn't worth fixing.

That said, I suppose it could be something else.
