Question about Honda Accord

99 v6 :veh was running after replacing the radiator, all of a sudden it cut off. assumed that it was out of gas. placed gas in it, would not turn over completely. replaced the distributer and there is still no power to spark plugs.

Are some of your warning lights (ABS, air bag, chk engine, battery etc.)not lit when key is turned to ON??

make sure engine coolant level not low.to replace thermostat on the V6 engines you need to raise the front of the vechicle support on jack stands remove splash shield from below engine.you need to drain coolant from radiator.you have to place radiator support panel in service position then follow the lower radiator hose to engine to the thermostat housing.

I have a 99 Explorer 4.0 SOHV V6. I'm loosing radiator fluid but I cannot find a leak. It still runs fine, for a car with 312,000 miles. Could it be a head gasket? I would think it would run badly


a slow leak will not make the engine run poor, at least not a first. another spot hard to detect would be the heater core, behind the dash. when these leak you can sometimes smell it, kind of a sweet smell from the heater/ a/c dash vent area

2001 camaro driving along when suddenly had no acceleration/reduced engine power. Had to pull over. Turned car off, now car will turn over but will not start?


A sudden change usually suggests something quit working. One problem could be the fuel pump. A quick test is turn the ignition to the on position and see if you can hear the fuel pump running. If not make sure there are no fuses that blew. You can also check the fuel pressure using the pressure bleed on the fuel rail (assuming fuel injection). The bleed usually has a little cap on it and functions like a tire stem. If there is no pressure it also points to the fuel pump. If there is pressure gas will spray so have a rag and make sure the engine is cold.

The other would be an electrical issue. Lack of spark. 99% of the other issues would not cause the car to at least try to start or run real rough. Perhaps a fuse? I am not good at electrical issues.

I also have a -99 Forester S turbo with the same problem. Runs like clockwork between failiures but all of a sudden engine turns but will not start. The workshop recomended fuelfilter replacement but I thaught it could have something to do with the immobilizer. what have you tried and ruled out?

Possible inertia switch if veh is equipped, let me get this right though, the light came on when the veh stalled??? didnt they all come on???? warning lights i mean???? try pouring a lil gas into the throttle body and then turning over with the starter, if this works and makes it run for a second then your veh is not getting fuel. if its not getting fuel, then there is no fuel pressure. If there is no fuel pressure there is either a leak that you would almost have to see, or the fuel pump is not running. One way to tell if the pump is not running is to have someone turn the key to the run position while you kneel at one of the rear tires of the veh. you should hear the pump come on for 1- 3 seconds, kind of a whining sound, but slight. If its coming on, but the veh still wont start without adding fuel ,that still doesnt mean that the pump is good, but will eliminate the inertia switch. reply and we go from there...

The radiator cooling fan is not working. Upon


assuming fuse and relay are good..no fan should be running when the engine is cool/cold, the only time the fan should be running when it reach over operation temperature which then the fan kick on to bring the temperature back down to it operation temperature. both fan work in sync with one another, addition cooling is needed when the ac is running. when the last time have you replace thermostat and Thermos sensor/switch. I would replace both unit if you have not done so. The thermos/switch will turn the fan on when it reach certain temperature and cut off when it sense the temperature drop in the engine.
