Question about Chevrolet Suburban 1500

1 Answer

I have a 96 chevy Suburban 1500 that had a remote start already wired up when I bought it. Now my understanding of remote starts for the winter you leave the heater on and it will warm up your vehicle and on for the AC in the summer to cool it. Well nada, no power to the accessory circuit. Is it as simple as running the 12V lead to the Accessory circuit to get it powered or are there various relay's involved? Just currious, and this is a genral remote start questin since I do not know the specific manufacturer of the system.

Do the accessories work normally? If they do then they should work when you use your remote start.

Output of the remote start kit powers the crank lead till starts... second it power ignition feed for ignition control systems ( engine ). last yes it powers what we call the accesory ignition... which powers the ac....heater....so on..most of time these are tied in on wires from ignition switch

Why would my 96 chevy suburban start and run fine, then randomly not start?

It's not your alarm,it's your ignition switch which is about 250.00 then your truck will start fine. I chased that same issue around for two years and finally changed out the ignition switch not the key assembly but the wiring harness in the steering column.

Chevy Suburban 1997 1500 won't start when Cold

it could be a tune up issue such as plug wires plugs . but my guess is its a computer engine temp sensor if it reads 5 degrees out of range it cuold give you a hard start or a no start problems the best way to look at this problem is with a scan tool when it is cold to see if the temp matches outside ambeint air temp 1 or 2 degrees ok b ut not 4 to five there is a nother way to check it buy useing dvom at a temp to omhs chart.

Electronic problem in 1996 Chevy Suburban 1500

srgy,
Have 96 burb and had similar issue. Mine was finicky about starting sometimes and thought it was the neutral safety switch. Turns out, it was the starter solenoid. Not positive yours is same issue, but it is worth checking.
