1992 Buick LaSabre. Where is the EGR valve?

1992 Buick LaSabre. I can't find anything that looks like an EGR valve. There is nothing near the exhaust or intake manifolds with either an electric or vacuum control attached. The only possibility is a small rectangular block bolted on under the air intake. Is that it? What controls it? Or where is the EGR and what does it look like?

Thanks for your effort -- even finding photos for me. But the photos are of a different car. I took the plastic fuel injector cover off, but I still didn't see anything that looks like an EGR. There is a cast iron cover. It looks like an intake manifold with six humps that make it look like a rocker arm cover. But I would need to take the fuel rail off to get that off. And it doesn't look like there is space enough underneath for a usual size EGR, nor any control lines going under the cover. The throttle body has three items connected. The first is a flat item in the air intake; it appears to be the air mass sensor. Another is attached to the lower end of the throttle shaft... maybe a throttle position sensor. The third is just above that, a cylinder an inch in diameter and 2 1/2 inches long with four wires attached. I don't know what that one is for. It has no vacuum line attached.

I also have a 92 Lesabre. I couldn't find the EGR valve either, so I asked the dealer where it is. They looked up the part and were surprised to discover the 92 Buick Lesabre did not come with an EGR valve. It's hard to believe, but you can verify it by calling the dealer and asking them to look up the part. It doesn't exist. Apparently, the 92 was the only year the Lesabre was manufactured with no EGR valve.

The EGR valve may have a protective cover on it:

After removing the cover, the egr valve is beneath, you will need to remove retaining clips to remove the egr valve.

Testimonial: "No. It doesn't have an in line EGR either. Nothing. Maybe it's inside the throttle body. But I gave you a good score for your fine effort."

Apparently, there are 2 types of EGR valves on your Park Ave. There's the digital EGR valve (depicted above) and a Linear EGR valve depicted below. Sorry for not posting both images earlier and hope this image helps to identify and repair your problem.

My 1989 Buick lasabre had a bad idle and when I put it in drive it drives good until 30 mph but after that it Boggs out like it has no power

It could be a bad diaphragm in your EGR valve. They often used ported vacuum and if there is a leak it won't show up until you are at higher rpms. A quick check is to remove the vacuum line from the EGR and plug it. Retest and see if the issue resolves itself. If so, replace the EGR valve.

The biggest cause of engine bogging is low intake vacuum and a bad EGR valve can do it easily.
