Dont!!! an you start to add freon, itll start to cycle the compresor clutch until within safe operating pressure and then it will hold clutch in constant. charge liquid(with can upside down). if wont take freon in this manner than your more than low on charge. running low on charge will quickly destroy pump, especiallt those old harrisons. the refrigerant also cools the compressor. good luck and wear gloves-

Car won't start. Battery not taking jump?

Their is a reset button on Jags you can't jump them or recharge the battery if they sit long .A lot of people have them and don't drive them in the winter .
I'm no export on Jaguars but I know their is a reset .The cruise control issue is the same in most vehicles it works with the brake switch ABS transmission vehicle speed sensors and the transmitter for the key less entree system .
I would say a battery issue .

Clutch on my 2000 tiburon wont engage or disengage

If the pedal is operating the clutch and its not a hydraulic problem then you do the mechanics trick of the trade ,warm up engine then turn it off ,now selsct first gear -handbrake off and start car in gear and drive with foot on clutch ,jerk the car a bit with the throttle and the clutch will release in the first hundred metres or so ,well they normally do anyway

So the problem has been occuring for a year and you are just now trying to fix it? Sorry, I just simply do not understand why people do this...keep driving it until it won't drive anymore even though you KNOW it has a problem....Maybe you can explain this to me???

If you can hear the starter clicking when you try to start it, then you have a bad starter. If it makes no noise at all. then you most likely have a bad clutch switch.

Air Cond. not working. Clutch does not engage

On the low port side (the side you put freon in) there is a low pressure cut out switch, pull it off and run a jumper wire across the two connectors, if the compressor kicks on the you are low on freon. and have a leak some where.

Am trying to charge my ac but my ac switch keep blinking and the comprresor dont kick in

You can make your compressor come on manually by putting a jumper
in the wiring connector going to the evaporator. It's the 2 wire plug.
If you foolw the wiring from the compressor, you should be able to
figure out where the wiring is. Just remove the plug and put a jumper wire across the terminals to get the compressor clutch to engage and
make the compressor pump.Good luck.

I have a 1987 Toyota Celica with a clutch problem, i just had the clutch redone 2 yrs ago. It seems that the free play of the clutch is gone, my pedal just sits right above the point where it would engage...

you ride the clutch excessively ,and slip the clutch between changes ,i can make a clutch last for 200,000kms ,but i have customer who has a new clutch every 6 mths to a year and he does just over 1000kms in that time .he will not use first gear and doesnt change down just rides the clutch to go up hill .he clls it clutch control ,i do not care because i make good money from this cantankerous person who knows how to drive with clutch control ,he even holds it on a hill on the clutch instead of putting handbrake on and then gearbox in neutral -I am just fitting him another clutch today ,the last one was easter last year .

Flashing A/C light

mg/clt = magnetic clutch. there are more than one fuse/relay for the AC that's why it's named specifically for the technicians to pin point.

Screeching noise, then a/c stops blowing cold air. Still blows air, just not cold air.

it could be the air conditioning clutch going out. to check turn your car on and idle it with ac on and hood open. at the ac compressor it will have a pulley on it with a clutch that engages when the air conditioning is on. if it engages and disengages it can be the clutch itself has gone bad, the ac clutch will also disengage if there is not enough freon in the ac system, will also engage and disengage if the pressure gets too high in the ac system. Depending on the year of the vehicle it will disengage at full throttle and come back on when you are not at full throttle.
If it is a metallic sounding screech for example take a coke can and drag it across pavement kind of sound it could be a bad compressor or a bad ac clutch. If it is a more rubbery sound for example a car spinning its tires kind of noise it could be a loose belt.

1. Check to make sure all belts are tight under hood
2. start car and look at ac compressor to make sure compressor pulley is turning and that the fan clutch is engaged spinning
