Did you check your connectors? I had the same problem a little while ago even after replacing the starter and the alternator. Just to find out it was a lousy 3.99 battery connectors! it will also kill your battery by having a bad connector. the things that look like a =C that is connected to the battery posts.

Sometimes doesnt fireup after i turn the engine off after ive drove it a mile or two

I would look at the battery, cables, alternator and belt system all as possible issues. What happens when you start turning on electrical items? The headlights, wipers, heat on high and defrost? If it all stays working while its running, I'd lean towards the battery being the issue, that's not a definitive test, just a good guide as "in general". Please get back to me with more questions, answers and most importantly, results! Thanks and good luck!

My fuse box under the hood clicks then the check engine light comes on then it will start what needs to be fixed?

Hello, If you get bad cell in the battery it can drain the system and overload the alternator output, the car is VERY sensitive to voltage. The clicking noise you hear is the starter solenoid not getting enough current.
Remove the battery, have it charged and TESTED on a battery tester, if it tests bad then replace it (the battery). Alternators usually do not fail unless contaminated by oil leaks or damged by aftermarket radios that require high current.

The clicking is the starter solenoid, and the battery change doesn't change or hurt the situation, it's just coincidence. Either the solenoid or the starter itself is bad; you need the starter system tested in order to identify the problem. Get a firm estimate from any decent shop.If you need another starter, a rebuilt is just fine.

Electrical issue

Sounds like a bad alternator, charge battery, check voltage without car running (should be around12v) start engine (voltage should be between 13.50- 14.5v) , check and make sure alternator belt is ok also.

Car wont start

If you are hearing loud clicking, this is usually the starter silinoid. This part makes a loud clicking sound if the battery cannot supply enough amperage to operate the starter to turn over the engine. The battery must supply at least 80 to 100 Amps on a normal day to start the engine.

The battery can only be tested for amperage output with a load tester. The battery may be defective from age and use, or from the alternator going defective and damaging the battery.
