Water entering into the engine and mixing with your motor oil usually indicates either a blown head gasket or a crack somewhere in the engine near a coolant passageway. If your vehicle is making a knocking sound and your vehicle's motor oil level is full then this can be attributed with bearing wear ie. crankshaft, cam shaft, connecting rod etc. Regardless, if that is the case you will need either a new motor if in fact there is a crack in the block or to rebuild your engine if not. Unfortunately the only guaranteed way to check for a crack in the block is to remove all components, clean thoughroughly and magnaflux the block to check for any cracks which may not be visable upon inspection. If your head gasket is blown you may notice either a white type of smoke along with moisture coming out of your exhaust pipes I would check that scenario first. Get written estimates and guarantees before having ANYTHING done or someone could take you for an expensive ride.

Sounds like you have a blown head gasket. It is broken between water jackets and cylinder. Check prestone over flow tank.

My 2001 ford focus has engine knock . The engine oil came one and before I could stop the knocking started . What could it be?

Did you check your oil level? Maybe your oil pump stopped working? I wouldn't drive the vehicle till you figure out the problem? I hope you don't have any internal engine damage?

2001 crown vic leaks oil and makes knocking sound when i accelerate, what can this be and please dont say rod knock

Can be several things. I want to say spark knock. Don't remember if your engine came with a Knock sensor.

Also stretched timing chain or weak timing chain tensioner. Another term to look at is "valve rattle". This would give you closer to a machine gun sound than other things.

Antifreeze leaking from engine on 2001 ford focus

It sounds like you have a blown head gasket, check your engine oil, take off your oil cap and if it is frothy around the cap and inside the head, you have a blown head gasket.

without hearing the knocking noise its difficult to say as it could be a cam follower or a big end ,best advice is to check oil level then ask a mechanic to have a listen and see what he says

Ford focus car engine light coming on knocking

Go to Orielly auto parts and rent their OBD scanner. If you takethe vehicle to them they wont charge you for the scanner. The dealer will charge you $100 or more to check it for you. Depending on how loud the knock is I would not recomend driving the vehicle until you scan it. Once you scan it write down the codes and Oriellys can translate them for you also.

Engine?

not sure what the sound was, but if there's a blown head gasket, the water that gets in a cylinder won't compress and it won't turn over very well and sometimes not at all. that may be what they mean by "holding compression".

check for water in the oil...it'll foam up on the dipstick,

Get a second opinion from a reputable shop other than Ford.... If it's a head gasket, it's much cheaper than an engine swap, if that's what you're thinking...

Water leaking from behind a pully on the block. how or what can i do?

the pully that the coolant is leaking out from sounds like your water pump. with no coolant in the system the temperature gage wont read the correct temperature. replace the water pump and pray that the engine didn't overheat, as to do permanent damage.

2001 FORD FOCUS LOAD TICKING NOISE

it very well can be that depending on the severity of the ticking noise, if it sounds like its coming from the top of the engine, place your hand on it only when you first start it up and if you can feel it knocking slightly and if the noise dies away once warmed up id say its your lifter, if its a heavier knocking rather than a ticking and comes from below or bottom end of engine it may be big end bearing, not good. try putting some engine treatment through the engine oil and make sure you run it in as directions state then change the oil and filter and see if that helps :)
