Could be the engines rear main seal. Clean the area and trace the source.

You either have a bad seal or a crack in some component...BEST ADVICE ...get it to a garage and checked ASAP.....loss of engine oil can blow up your motor real fast, and also posses a fire hazard

I have a 1994 pontiac grand am and it is leaking oil only when its running and it is coming just above the starter. I just got the starter replaced also. what is going wrong and how much will it cost me....

if this only happen after the starter was replaced then its probably the oil pressure switch leaking as it is above the starter.this will be a cheap fix(about 35 dollars)depending on labour rate and cost of part.

Where is the oil pressure sensor located on a 60 series detroit

60 series detroit has oil sender on driver side near rear of engine just above the starter. It usually has 3 wires, and sometimes can be buried in the harness, so you may have to look under wiring harnesses in that area to find.
