It is possible but don't think this is the issue alot of times this is a sign that the ignition control module is bad. You can have it checked by removing it and taking it to a parts house. To remove disconnect battery unplug module disconnect the coils off of it by unscrewing mounting screws and remove. then remove mounting screws holding module on and take to be tested.

My Chevy Malibu 1997 has a major problem with leaking in the coolant system. The coolant light comes on and stays on. We put prestone in the recovery system until its filled. The coolant light continue...

I'm guessing that the mechanic fixed a coolant leak around the gasket on the upper air plenum. The gasket leak was probably caused by Dexcool antifreeze deteriorating the gasket material. If that is the case, then the lower intake gasket is probably leaking too. If the mechanic refilled the cooling sysytem with DExcool antifreeze, then it probably destroyed the sealant he used to make the initial repair. I would have the car towed back to the mechanic to avoid any further damage from overheating. Have the mechanic remove the lower intake and check the gasket for leaks. DO NOT refill the cooling system with Dexcool. Use a compatible antifreeze that will work with aluminum engine parts.

Engine runs rough and want to die when i put it in gear or when slowing at an intersection some times it runs perfect but not for long i changed sending unit , filter , and complete tune up. sometimes...

This condition can be caused by a sludged up idle speed control valve and a dirty throttle valve, do the following procedure to correct this, if it still doesn't repair the problem have the idle speed control system tested by the dealer.

Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

When I slow down to a complete stop, my 1999 chrysler sebring cuts off. Can you help me?

Possibly a transmission issue. The transmission has a "lockup" mode, where a clutch connects the engine directly to the transmission at cruising speeds. It is then supposed to unlock at lower speeds and for stopping. If it doesn't unlock, the car will stall at a stop. Try putting it into neutral (carefullly, so you don't go into reverse) as you slow down, if it doesn't stall out, it is most likely the transmission lockup mechanism.

If it stalls in neutral it is an engine issue. Bad idle control, bad ignition (it's easier to fire at high speed), bad fuel injector, bad air flow/pressure sensor... and more possibilities.

Stalling and hard starting

check the harmonic balancer(crank pulley) to see if it is loose or soaked with oil. if it is loose, the balancer could be broken off around the crank shaft. try turning it by hand, it should not turn easily.
if it is oil soaked this wil also damage the balancer.
these 2 conditions can throw the timing in and out, causing your problem.
good luck

I WOULD STILL CHECK THE FUEL PRESSURE.IF ALL IS GOOD.ENGINE GETTING TOO HOT WILL SHUT OFF.ALSO A LEAKING INTAKE GASKET WILL CAUSE STALLING WHEN HOT.

Car stalls, oil light comes on, smoke from under hood

sound like the overheating of the engine did some internal damage. ethier an intake or head gasket or maybe even a warped or cracked head. worse case senero would be a cracked block. check the oil see if it looks milky like a grey sludge. most likely it is a head gasket. have a leak down test preformed to confirm. the labor for the head gaskets is 9 hours for 1 or 11.5 for 2. I would replace both and have the mechanic check the heads and block for cracks while he has it apart.
