Last place to look is the resistor block located in the duct work for the blower (fan). it should have a wiring plug going to it and be held in by a couple screws. look on the passenger side near the fan itself.

Heat and ac suddenly quit working on my 2003 gmc sierra. I've never had any problems with it. I am getting no air flow. How do I tell if I need to replace the resister or the blower motor

The fan is easier to test, it's only 2 wires. Power and ground, easy test. Check the pigtail ( connector ) for corrosion.. To test resistor you'll need a voltmeter to test wires at fan. Fan only knows on and off. The resistor changes ground for other speeds. You could just try tapping on motor to see if it spins if it does change it

1995 GMC Sierra fan blower not working.

In the beginning you should check for voltage and ground.
The 50amp fuse marked AC powers the blower motor and the motor is grounded.
The high speed relay bypasses the resistor. So you should have power coming from the fuse and thru the high relay. Then the resistor for the other speeds gets power from the heat and ac control module which also controls the blend doors.
You may need a shop manual or repair book to get the diagrams.

My ac not blowing in side truck

follow the steps and fix it. God bless you

Start the engine and let it to run for a few minutes to allow the air to cool. Double check the controls to make sure the correct buttons are selected. This may seem simplistic, but human error could be to blame.

  • 2 Adjust the climate controls. If they are working correctly with the right amount of resistance and stopping at the right places but have no effect on the air then it is probably a simple fuse problem. If they are not working correctly then it is probably a control panel issue.
  • 3 Get to the fuse box to change the blown fuse in a GMC Sierra by opening the driver's side door and prying off the trim panel to the left of the steering wheel. The fuse can be removed with your fingers. If the Sierra was purchased new there should be replacement fuses in the fuse box.
  • 4 Check the control panel next in your GMC Sierra. Remove the trim plate bezel surrounding the center instrument panel. Pull of the storage tray and the accessory switch.
  • 5 Unscrew the four screws holding the climate control assembly in place, push in the retaining tabs and pull the control panel out. Unplug the electrical connector. Sierra models older than 2001 have no retaining tabs or accessory switch.
  • 6 Listen for the blower motor while the engine is running and the air is on. There are two different possible blower motors in a GMC Sierra. Both are easily accessed from under the hood. The Delphi will sit vertically, while the Visteon sits horizontally. In both cases, remove the sound insulation panel, unplug the electrical connector and unscrew the three screws holding the blower motor into place.

The heater / ac in my 2006 GMC Sierra 2500HD has gone out several times. It has always been corrected by replacing the resistor. Replacing the resistor did not work this time. I have checked the fuses...

You have replaced the resistor and the blowwer is good and the fuses are good then i would say its in the switch or power to the switch, maybe at the ignition switch there a bad wire . sometimes the power wire going from ignition switch heats up and causes a bad connection, if you pull connector off the switch make sure the connector to ignition switch is not melted or burnt and also check blower control for the same, i would say that your blower is bad and drawing to much current if you have replaced a few resistors, i think maybe theres a fuse under the hood in the fuse /relay box that may be out or the connection at the switch or ignition is melted. hope this helps.
