Try turning the key on and letting the security light flash. after it stops (about 15 minutes) the system should be re-set.

Hummer H3 Antitheft. How do I reset it

This may be related to the antitheft system The system is known for turning off the starter and/or injectors when it fails. Is there a light on the dash that says SECURITY? This is a common problem worth looking into. http://www.diy-gm-security.com/

Chevy Malibu LS (V6-3.1 L) won't start or starts up and IMMEDIATELY dies, how can I diagnose the problem?

Your car starts and dies due to the failing antitheft system. Your vehicle is not receiving the "fuel enable" signal that it needs to keep running. So the injectors get turned to off to prevent theft. You will need to diagnose which part of the antitheft system is failing. Or bypass the entire security system. This link will help you understand the problem, and depending on the year of your vehicle, possibly a good bypass solution.

My GMC sierra starts and dies in 1 second but after maybe 10 minutes it starts up fine in a few days or a week it will do this again

GM's are known for possessing faulty antitheft systems. When these systems being to fail, the antitheft misinterprets the failure as an attempt to steal the vehicle. The system then shuts off the injectors. The system resets after 10 minutes exactly. As the fault gets worse, this will happen more often. Next time this happens, note any lights that illuminate on the dash area. If you see one that says SECURITY or ANTITHEFT, this is most likely the problem. This link will help you.

Looking for emergency shut off switch for 02 sunfire

This could very possibly be the antitheft system failing. Gm has had issues with this system since the 80's. When the system fails, the car will crank but not start. Might run for a second or more and then die. If these symptoms sound similar to yours, the antitheft might be the issue. Also look for a light on the dash that says SECURITY or ANTITHEFT. This is a telltale sign of an antitheft failure. This link explains the problem and solutions to fix this yourself.

2000 saturn sl1 it start and die and you got to the key off and back on and it start and die

This sounds like a broken or failing antitheft security system. Gm vehicles are known for this problem. Look for a light on the dash when this happens. It will say SECURITY, ANTITHEFT, or look like a car with a padlock thru it. When this system fails, the car will run for 5 seconds or less and then shut off, thinking that it is being stolen. This link explains this problem.

My mechanic says that the reason why my 1997 jeep grand cherokee will start an stay on for only 10 seconds is because i need to have the dealership unlock the anti theft system

I find that to be doubtful but would contact the dealer about how exactly that antitheft system works. In most antitheft systems the vehicle will start at all, or even turn over like it may try to start. If it runs but dies out I would be looking at something more like vacuum leaks, timing, idle air control or possibly the alternator though that seems unlikely.
