i am going to replace window regulator cables on a 1999 oldsmobile intrigue does one cable pull the window up and the other pull it down or does both cables pull up and down need to know if one cable is wound one direction and the other one the opposite or does both wound the same direction?

I've done this on my 1999 Olds Intrigue for the drivers door. The regulator I had did NOT have cables. It had two flat metal plates and gearing that when the motor turned, the scissors like action raised or lowered the window. I bought a whole unit from Rock Auto online and found instructions online. a little time consuming, but heck it only cost me less than $100 for the unit and my time. about 2 hours. really helps to get 3M blue tape to hold the window while you're removing the old regulator and installing the new one.
