What is keeping my car from cranking?

I own a 1984 ford ltd country squire station wagon. It cranks when it is cold, but when it gets hot it will turn fast but will not crank. I have installed a new fuel filter. The fuel pump works okay. Could it be the fuel relay switch? If so, where is it located and can it be tested?
