Sounds like an alternator to me to check it start the car and then remove one of the battery terminals if the engine shuts down when you do this it's about 95% sure it's the alternator

I have this same problem and it's NOT the alternator, did you finally find out what the problem is? I was told it's the ECU that takes some time to read all the sensors and takes some time but it's been three days now and still the same thing.

Fusible link?????

Normally the "Fuse-able Link" is right next to the Battery. It'll be a short length of wire supplying all the current to the fuse box.But this won't be the cause.
I have a problem with your description "Battery still dies while driving around". Can you elaborate on this?
Assuming the Battery and Alternator are not defective, the fan belt is tight enough and the Battery is fully charged, all should be ok.

I have 05 kia rio. jump started dead battery but the cables were crossed and killed it instead. purchased new battery. car stuck in park. worked when screwdriver in override button but still won'

There is a large maxi-fuse between the battery and alternator. Its at least 100 amp or more. It may be in the cable at the battery, or in one of the fuse boxes.
You may also have damaged the key switch or the brake circuit.
You may have to get a book to get the wiring diagrams to check everything involved.

Car not starting

I think that the keys are constantly sending out signals so the battery dies fairly quickly. The good news is that it takes a standard CR2032 battery that can be purchased anywhere, and that replacing the battery is a pretty simple thing to do.

I just purchased one of these from a rental company and the first thing I had to do was replace the battery.
