To time a 106 diesel is quite a process
take the osf wheel off
remove wheel arches
remove bumper
remove headlight
take off covers
then fit a rachet and socket onto the crankshaft
all the crank, cam and fuel pump have pins which locate them.
so no timing marks.
you need 2x 6mm bar (drill bits) and a m8 bolt
the crank timing is done though the engine block into the flywheel. it is a little 6mm hole half way up the block facing the radiator.
the fuel pump is also a 6mm hole
and the cam is the m8 bolt
the cam and the fuel pump spocket should be loosened off after the pins are in place. this alows when the new belt is placed on the sprockets fit the belt teeth exactly.
remember to tighten the sprocket up before removing the locating pins. and rotate the engine over 6-7 times to make sure all the pins line up exactly before reasembling the car.
I've uploaded a manual for 106 tud timing belt refitting:

may be it can solve your problem
You ideally need a dialtestindicator it looks like a tyre valve with a pin at bottom you have to get manual to set fuel pump correctly but the timing is the same as petrol only diesel pump timing is quite difficult has to be spot on or run like **** or not at all
