Need more info to help is truck 4x4? Will it do it in nuetral when reving? Is it coming from front or rear of truck? Does noise change on turns? It could be a wheel bearing, front Diff, transmision, engine accessory, transfer case, rear axle. You need to drive again is noise faster with engine rpm (speed) or faster with truck speed!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1997 chevy k1500 suburban speedometer inaccurate stock tires 5.7 auto 50mph actual speed is 70mph

You need the speedo calibrated, if that is not the cause then either the speedo is defective or their is some unlikely problem with the speed sensor.

I have a 1997 Ford F-150 Lariat, and when pulling a trailer it makes a chattering noise when the gas pedal is pressed down to pick up speed. When going up a hill it will not go passed 40 mph and starts to...

If tranny is manual shift you may have a bearing and or bad gear. Try changing tranny fluid. Check manual for correct fluid may use tranny fluid rather than gear oil. I recommend using Royal Purple fluid or gear oil. This very expensive but will slicken up the shifting and extend bearing and gear life.

My trans was shifting hard and the speedometer would only work at and past 40 mph. I have replaced the trans speed sensor and the shifting seems to be better but my seedometer still will not work untill...

Ok the output speed sensor and the vehicle speed sensor are not the same sensor. The output speed sensor will be on the tailshaft housing of the transmission or to the rear of the transmission case if it is a 45rfe(5 speed auto). The vehicle speed sensor is in the top of rear differential housing.Be sure and douse the sensor with wd40 before you try to remove.Dry oring will cause sensor to stick and break and that can be a headache.Good Luck!

Whining noise

Can you make the noise happen with your foot on the brake, trans in gear, and a little throttle? And does it go away in park & neutral? If yes to both questions you probably have a faulty thrust bearing in the torque convertor. If no to both questions you like have a faulty "input drum to pump cover thrust bearing." Either way the problem must be repaired ASAP or when the bearing fails it will be at the worst possible time, like in the middle of an intersection with a firetruck bearing down on you.
