YOUR FLOAT HAS A NEEDLE AND NEEDLE SEAT.A HINGE PIN THAT HOLDS FLOAT IN POSITION.YOUR FLOAT HAS A HINGE WHERE THE NEEDLE HANGS ON.THE FLOAT HAS NO SPRING.YOUR FLOAT NEEDLE IS STICKING DUE TO A GAS SOAK FLOAT.YOU NEED TO REPLACE.THE FLOAT THE NEEDLE AND NEEDLE SEAT.BESURE YOU SET YOUR FLOAT DROP.

no spring poss small wire from needle to float! the way it works is float is up needle close because float bowl full--when fluid or gas goes down valve opens lets fluel in.ck full pump disconnect line at carb crank over with guage should have apprx 7psi of press not less then 5psi carefull gas flameable

to correctly test, assemble the carb and turn it upside down, then blow into the gas inlet, it should NOT flow

then turn it rightside up an blow in the gas inlet again,it should flow fairly freely if you get no flow it's stopped up,

I remember there's a screen filter between the inlet and the needle, it's probably clogged, get a new needle and seat assy and it has a new screen,
I remember the gasket set for those is fairlycheap (15 bucks or so) and includes everything except the floatif you'r'e going to overhaul it (Gasket set) put in a new float they get waterlogged (OK Gaslogged) and heavy then you flood
Floats around five bucks or less, so for around 20 bucks or so, you can get an effectively new carb

If you're desperate use a needle to pick out the screen, but you MUST install an inline filter at the gas inlet (Or as close as possible)
