I have replaced the disks and pads because of very bad vibration when braking, allmost got so bad it shook the whole car. I have also balanced the wheels, but there is still a vibration under braking allthough not nearly as bad as before...Any ideas.

Vibration can cause by bent wheels, warp rotors, sticky or worn out calipers piston, bent or worn tie rod bushing, warp separating tires, worn break pad. Did you bleed the brake properly if you open the bleeding nipple in order to release the pressure to allow you to put the new pad in, with abs unit you cant bleed the brake the same way with standard unit causing the air to be lock up in the unit and it will not allow the pressure in the piston in your calipers to work properly pressing the rotors evenly. with abs unit there is lots of nick and cranny chambers that the fluid travel through, air will be the worst enemy in the system and will throw your computer off trying to adjust and compensate the pressure to give all 4 side of the calipers equal pressure to the pistons. also make sure all 4 calipers piston are working properly and not one or two are not sticky. if all three piston is working properly and one is bad or defective, you will also get a vibration.

Sound like a defective or sticking brake caliper. After driving and braking, check the wheel areas for excessive heat, which is a symptom of a sticking brake caliper. That may help narrow down where the problem is. If the caliper is defective, the piston may not be retracting properly and could be causing brake drag. Hope this helped and best wishes.
Testimonial: "Sounds good, shudder is only under breaking. when replacing the pads, the calipers felt free enough and retracted easyly."
Yes sir and thank you for your kind words and consideration. May I suggest that you visit the autozone.com website and register the vehicle there. It doesn't cost anything and will give you access to an online repair manual for the vehicle. Take a look at the braking system section. It may provide you with some insight into a resolution to your problem. You mentioned that you were unsure what the rotors were and you will find that and other information regarding the braking system on your vehicle there. Since you say that the calipers seemed to function properly when you changed the brake pads, a warped rotor could cause this problem. Thank you again and I hope you find a satisfactory answer to your delimma. The braking system is a major safety issue and should be given full attention. Best wishes.

Do you have rust on the hub where the rotor mounts? My guess is yes. Another probable cause is the small retainers that hold the rotors on when the wheels are off. If they are still there, remove them. We see this problem all the time here at the shop. Hope this helps.
Testimonial: "Only amatur mechanic but had no problem replacing disks, not sure what rotors are??"
Disks and rotors are one in the same. Your rotor or disc mounts to a hub which has the wheel studs in it. The most usual problem I see is rust on the hub area between the studs where the discs mount. While the rust might seem very thin at that area, it becomes really pronounced the further away from center you move and can cause a serious vibration problem. Make sure the hub is clean and free of any rust. Regards!!

ther were no retainers, when I remopved the wheel the rotors were free and when I took off the caliper the rotors came straight off. Will remove all again and check for dirt or rust and see if all pistons are free. Have a feeling I will find nothing wrong as It all looked good but worth a try. thanks for the help, understand the whole thing much better now.greg
