My power steering belt broke, is it hard for myself to replace it, or should I just take to the mechanic. 93 Honda Accord

it sounds like the belt needs to be adjusted or the belt needs replace you can adjust the belt at the power steering pump good luck.

Don't risk it you will have no power steering best to have mechanic check system out something may be on verge of seizing causing you more damage and $$$$$$

Sounds like the Power Steering drive belt broke and the belt is slapping on the block of the engine.

Here is a diagram for your belts the power steering belt is the one that broke the tensioner will need to be loosened to install a new belt. depending on your mechanical ability you should be able to handle this job. hope this helps

In some honda s the PISTON and the VALVE share the same space ,check if your honda does or not ,because you wil have to re build that motor if that happens,timing belts are at every 90,000 miles

That could be a belt.. it is typical for that to happen when the belt is warn out a bit and/or sretched.. Inspect the belt(s) for ware, cracks and tention.. If the belt(s) is warn - it would not hurt to replece it/them..

your power steering belt needs to be tightened or replaced. It' slipping, causing the annoying squealing. The more it slips, it 'glazes' the belt, making it easier to slip, resulting in the condition getting worse.

Tackling a timing belt replacement is not for the inexperienced person (not saying you are) but this is a complicated replacement. Seek professional help.
