Just picked up 2000 vw beatle with bad battery,car turns over fine with new battery, is not getting fuel, is there a fuel cut off switch like the fords? is fuel pump in tank or frame rail on passeger side,car reads full tank of gas, could computer be telling pump not to run. spray statrting fluid in breather car runs then cut off. unhooked 3 lines going to fuel rail and noticed no gas coming out when turning motor over, could fuel pump be that cloged up.

Do you have power loss? if Yes timing problem. However you have to check the crankshaft sensor since u get that msg. However quick test could be HOT/COLD check the RPM while u turn key and see if there is difference in RPM shown on ur dash

I have a 2000 VW beatle showing a trouble code P0322 Speed Sensor. I checked with Ohms meter and received correct reading? Car cuts off when hot.
Speed Sensor has nothing to do with the engine cutting off
PO322 is a Generic Code for a Knock Sensor
You need to Google your codes & read up
An OHM Meter won't do anything for you on a Speed
Sensor,need a scan tool or scope
I would say you have an overheating condition to correct
& the knock sensor plays a role, wouldn't you think!

Sounds like the altenator died, you were running off the battery alone. you should have the chargung system checked out. good luck.

I'm going to assume it is an automatic transmission,

Check the brake switch for malfunction,

NOT the brake......the brake light switch,

The cruise control,brake light and shift lever over ride all connected to rhe same circuit.

Check all fuse first,bulbs and move onto checking the brake switch,
