My 2003 Chevy impala will not gain any speed or is what I call Sluggish from a stopped postion. When I am faced with a hill small or steep it begin to lose speed and I start slowing down. I have had the fuel filter changed and I still have this problem. It has been 2 weeks now and my care is beginning to **** / show hesitation but not from the transmission from the motor it seems. My car guy has no clue and wants to flush out the transmission fluids, then replace fuel injector, fuel pump then cad. converter. How would I know if it was any of these things? Is there a tale tale sign to tell one from the other?
First thing to check is the timing. It may have jumped a cog, and is giving you all kinds of grief. Next, check for faulty spark plug wires, and or spark plugs. Change your air filter. Change ignition coils. Check tranny fluid level. Check egr. Check for intake vacuum leaks. If your car guy hasn't checked these things, or won't check them when you suggest them.. find a real car guy. Good luck. Let me know how you make out.
