TO FIND THE CODE FOR THAT RADIO, YOU MUST CONTACT THE PREVIOUS OWNER OF THE RADIO OR IT WILL NEVER WORK. FOR INSTANCE, IF IT CAME OUT OF A 2000 BEETLE, YOU MUST HAVE THE COMPLETE VIN NUMBER, YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL TO GET THE CODE FROM THE VW DEALER. IF YOU CALL THEM, THEY MAY GIVE YOU THE CODE YOU NEED. I HOPE THIS HELPS. THANKS FOR USING FIX-YA AND FOR AN HONEST RATING. BEST OF LUCK

I need the code for my 2003 VW Jetta stereo

Check inside your trunk wheel well by the spare tire. In some years they put the radio code on a sticker in that location. Otherwise you will need to take the radio serial number to the dealer along with your VIN number. They can then give you the code. Better if it's the original radio with the car.

1990 Jetta stereo code

The radio will have to be removed from the car dashboard

.Then please quote the MAKE + MODEL of your radio plus ALL the LETTERS and NUMBERS on any LABELS , BARCODES or STAMPED IN THE METAL CASING.

Also quote the MAKE of CAR it is fitted into.

Note : Not all stereo codes can be calculated using the Serial Number.

Factory stereo code

Factory radio codes are an anti-theft deterrent, they are unique to each radio and car serial number, in order to get the code the dealer will have to access the manufacturers data base, you will need to pull the radio and record the radio model number and the serial number of the chassis of the radio and take it to the dealer, they will not in most cases give the info out over the phone, this would defeat the whole purpose of the code.
