97 ford 460 no spark ,ran when i parked it 2 months ago (moterhome) what components related to getting spark

Get a manual for a 86 ford econoline from an auto parts store.

check and test coil --clean and check the distributor ,rotor and points

check impact sensor cutoff fuel... and cran and cam sensor... fuses and relays... if you can, check with scanner OBD2

If yu still have the other engine try switching the distributers.. could be a IGN Module which lives in side the distributer.. Or take the module out and go to Oreillys auto parts and have them test the module.. Since it sounds like you did the swap yourself.. Go back over everything on top of the engine and make sure all connections are plugged in corectly. The computer provides power to the module.. check to see if it is getting power. look at the wiring diagram and find out what pin on the computer is suppling this single.. and test it.

Have you checked the catalytic converter? After 20 years they do pug up causing some of the problems you describe

So start by checking for spark and fuel. If no spark or fuel you will need to troubleshoot that system further but before we can do that you need to verify if you have both of those.

The parking brake is activated by the shift lever. There is no parking paw in the transmission on these John Deere Chassis motor homes. The parking brake is the type that works a brake on the drive shaft. I ran into the same problem and just put a line lock on the brake line.

did you replace the coil wire?
