Fuel pump on Kia Sportage CRDi

I drive a Kia Sportage 2.0CRDi, it is making a loud whistling sound when the key is turned on, and continues while the engine is running. the sound comes from the middle of the car left hand side under the floor. Any suggestions as to what could cause this? I think it is a fuel pump.

Yes it is the fuel pump sounds like you should replace it as the bushes are worn in the pump and will soon stop working

2000 kia sportage car won't run untill you pour gas in the intake then it will till the gas is used up

Sounds like your not getting fuel. Turn key on and listen by gas tank and see if you hear a buzz sound. if you don't you'll need to replace the fuel pump.

Is there a seperate fuel pump under the hood on my 2001 kia sportage

Their is one fuel pump and its in the tank. You can check it easily. Get as close as possible to the bottom of the tank and listen carefully to the tank as you have an assistant turn the ignition key to the run position (just when dash warning lights come on). When the key is turned the pump will make a wining sound for about 2 seconds. That is normal and tells you the pump is working.

My 02 kia sportage just quit while i was driveing it now will not start why

Most likely the fuel pump has quit. Check it by having someone turn the ignition key to the run position (just when dash lights light up) listen to the fuel tank from as close as possible. for the first 2 seconds you should hear a whining sound. If you don't... the pump is not working.

ABOUT KIA SPORTAGE 2003 THAT HAVING CRACKED HEAD COVER, YOU SAID KIA $ HYONDAI ARE SAME , SO WHAT HYNDAI MODEL SHOULD I LOOK FOR TO GET ITS PART.

First of all you need to provide information about the type of engine you have in the KIa Sportage. Any KIA CRDi engine is the same as Hyundai CRDi but not all petrol engines are same.

My Kia Sportage sounds like a hover craft....LOUD whistling, when I turn the wheel to the left or put the brake on it stops for just a moment...it is driving me crazy!

difficult one this as without my greasy hands have a look but i would hazard a guess and say it sounds like the air filter on the back of the servo is blocked ,but i cannot place it making a noise when turning the wheel unless its something different ,could even be a vacumn leak somewhere ,to be honest this is a catch 22 question and i would suggest you ask a local mechanic to have a look and post what he says

What would cause the 200 Kia Sportage not to start

Sounds like it could be fuel pump related turning the key so the dash lights up activates the fuel pump. After multipule times it starts could be not puting out enough or is faulty
