I have black smoke coming from my exhaust

I have black smoke coming from the exhaust of my 2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara DDiS with a strange tapping noise coming from the engine when accelerating. I have just bought the car from a dealership who have just serviced it and given it, its first MOT. I understand that the diesel engine used in the new Vitara's are Renault engines. The problem was there immediately after I took delivery of the car so the dealership had it repaired by replacing a faulty fuel injector under warranty. Any thoughts?

It is over fueling black smoke is diesel. You will need to get all the injectors tested and check the air filter may be clogged. The tapping noise is what is known as a diesel knock. This should leave it when you get the over fueling sorted.

That is the ball park figure. A lot depends on how heavy footed you are and how you use the brakes.

Where is the starter located on a 2008 Suzuki Grand Vitara?

one of the hardest starters to remove
only held on by two bolts but not enough room to remove it
without taking a lot of parts off

will be best to buy a 2006-2014 vitara repair manual

see if the exhaust manifold removal makes it possible
or the engine mount bracket

this is the 2008 starter

My egr valve on a 2007 suzuki grand vitara DDiS is clicking when I turn off the engine.

why would you do that. (if in usa its illegal and prove of tampering)
1: besides smog (NOX reduction) it does 2 other things.
2: it lowers exhaust valve temperatures, making them last and last.
3: it increase MPG, mileage. (can be proven easy with a simple test)
4: reduces PING, (detonation damage)
NOt only that, the ECU/PCM will fail the P04xx tests. and then not be able to inject or run spark advance correctly (see ping)

how to make a blank off, why? just unplug it.

Who makes the diesel engine in the suzuki grand vitara

The 1.9-litre diesel engine in the latest version is sourced from Renault and delivers a hefty 221 ft lbs of torque for reassuring operation both on and off road. This power makes the Grand Vitara a far more versatile proposition, with even enough power to pull a small caravan if required.

Suzuki Vitara V6, MAF sensor, white smoke.

Hi:
My first thoughts are that you have a head gasket or intake manifold gasket failure. This is why you have the white smoke. If you run it too long, your catalytic converter will be destroyed. Check for coolant in your oil too.
