It can only be either the ignition swith or a broken wire between ig switch and starter solenoid, if you take off the plastic bezel around switch I think the starter sol wire is white with red trace,.with a lengh of wire from the pos on battery, touch to starter wire at switch, if it then turns engine over, the fault is switch. If not check other end of starter wire where it connects to starter solenoid on starter

When you say it wont start, do you mean, the starter will not turn the motor over OR it wont run? If it does not run you have another problems beside replacing the battery and new starter. You need to see if you getting fuel and sparks, two things need to make the engine run. if the starter does not turn the motor over than it may be in your ignition system.
