I have been trying to change the sidelight bulb on my 09 focus for 2 days now. i have managed to get the light unit of the car, and i have changed the normal h7 dipped beam bulbs, which was easy, but i cannot for the life of me manage to remove the sidelight bulb from the light unit. i have tried pulling and twisting but the long plastic piece the you have to pull will not come out, does anyone have any ideas about how to do this job, because for want to charge me 17.50 just to change the bulbs and that just seems a mighty rip off/scam
The long plastic piece twists and turns with a pair of pliers.
On the sidelight, there is a Phillips screw which is hidden by the headlamp assembly. Remove headlight assembly and look for the Phillips screw. Once unscrewed, pull lens unit straight out and then you should be able to change bulb.
