I have a 2005 chevy silverado 4X4 Duramax. My air conditioner recirculate button light comes on but the ac doesnt recirculate. I pulled the coer under the windshield looking for leaves, everything looked good, no leaves were in the blower motor. I pulled the basic cover inside the cab above the pasenger feet area, and did not see any duct wrk valves that i could manually stroke to change the recirculation in the cab, Is this a relay problem? Can i make it recirculate manually forever?

There is an actuator for the recirculation door. It is probably bad. The actuator is at the firewall and is very hard to get off for replacement. The dash cover has to come off, then the defroster ducts. Then with a long extension, 5.5mm socket, a universal and a lot of luck, you get the actuator off without removing other dash parts.

Your air conditioner condenses alot of moisture while it is cooling. This falls into the box that the blower fan is mounted inside of. There is a small drain hose that allows this moisture to drain outside the vehicle. Have this drain checked to insure that it is open. You can usually blow low pressure air into the hose to verify that it is clear.. Good Luck!
If the vehicle is equipt with an ambient air temperature display, the sensor also prevents the AC clutch from engaging if the outside air is below as certain tempreture. To test, turn the AC on. Press and hold the AC button at the same time as you press and hold the recirculate button. Hold for 5 to 8 seconds. If this is the cause of the issue, the AC will kick on and you will hear the compressor clutch engage. This should also reset the sensor and correct the issue.
You should have it put on diagnostic scanner to tell for sure. system needs to be tested. As a mechanic myself, I know these can be done fairlty easy on most vehicles but some can be slightly tricky
The air flow does not 'increase' with the recirc button pressed. The fan motor blows at specific speeds, no matter whether fresh or recirc is selected. The recirc feature is there so that you do NOT admit 'fresh/hot' air from the outside into the AC box. In short, the recirc feature is to re-use, or, recirculate the existing air in the car. When it is properly working, on a hot day, the recirc selection should drop the internal temperature at the center air vent about 6 degrees lower than with the fresh selected.
