The turn signal switch in the steering column has a short in some models. Have someone watch your brake lights and move the 4 way flasher on top of the column from left to right without deploying the switch for the 4 ways. If your brake lights flash ,the harness needs to be replaced if they are still available. Harness around 300.00 plus labor.
brake light dont have relay only fuse brakes are hot at all times on gms. in goes from fuse to brake pedal switch to hazard turn signal switch then to brake lights. ck fuse if good go to pedal switch if good go to turn /hazard switch the turn signal hazard brake all use same wire to lamps.
Check the fuses. And check for power at the taillights (These taillights have circuit boards on the back side that can go bad.) I don't think the hazard switch is it because the brakes would still work. Also check the brake pedal switch. There is a hazard flasher, does the hazards work?
check voltage from brake switch to signal light switch, signal goes from brake pedal to signal switch then to taillights, i suspect the problem is in that area
There will be an electronic flasher module located under your dash near the steering column (don't know it's exactly location as it varies). It sounds like this unit may be faulty.
Does the turn signals or hazards work in the rear?? Yes... it may be the brake switch or the turn signal switch (power goes from battery, to the brake switch then to the turn signal switch, then to the lights. No? .. again.. possibly turn signal switch or the wiring between cab and bed.
