Do not use any fuel additives at all. and only use 87 octane fuel nothing higher. 4.6 and 5.4 ford engines do have a pinging sound especially with a load. but it is normal

I have a 2001 f 150 5.4 and when i first start it i have to keep my foot on the gas but when it gets to normal temp it runs fine. i need ideas

Coolant Temp Sensor
Thermostat
TPS Sensor
Clean Throttle Plate
Clean MAF Sensor
and more

You don't have all those, as problems, but need to
look at the data

If you have spark plugs that are not in the motor over 3 years
or 60,000 miles, no COP Coil Misfires, clean throttle and MAF,
good air filter,no vacuum leaks, then I would suspect the temp sensor,
and look at when it go into closed loop (O2 Sensors take over fuel regulation)

Not a regular cab but Lariat F-150 Supercrew 2003 , the inside and the cargo lights stay on when the truck is shut down ,and now I notice the auto locking doors are not working when you touch the brake...

Is the door ajar light in the cluster illuminated ?

Could be the door ajar switch ( part of the door latch ) is gummed up, and needs to be WD-40 sprayed into it, and close open the doors a few times, and repeat.

The autolock uses the same input, to know to lock the doors when you press the brake pedal while moving.

2004 Ford F150 supercrew will not go into 4 wheel drive, high or low, 86K miles, please help

Could be a problem with the vac lines to the IWE ( Integrated WheelEnds ), or a problem with the IWE solenoid, or a problem with the ventfrom the IWE.

Start with checking the vac lines, to make sure they are not cracked.
The vac res & IWE solenoid are behind the battery. Here is a diagram of the parts in the IWE vac system
e84e68b.jpg
There was a TSB for the 2004-2006 MYs with a bad design IWE solenoid, but this usually was coupled with noise in 2WD.
Start with checking the VAC lines and the vent, next would be to check the IWE solenoid.

F150 supercrew cab won't start,,battery good

If you're using your truck to jump start another dead battery in a different car..your truck should be runing when you do that.....

If you leave your truck turned off and are jump starting another car/truck that way..you are drawing your CCA (cold cranking amps) way down, and really shortening the life of your batery..you'll be needing to get jump started yourslf pretty soon.

4x4 low is stuck on?

Hi,

Try reversing for around 10 yards, then deselect 4WD.

Doing a few snake turns on soft ground may help too if it has wound up the transmission.

If this does not work, it may be a stuck solenoid.
