'03 Z71 1-2 shift slide and 2-3 shift flare. Was working fine just no reverse. Replaced sun shell and clutches, now this problem. Can anyone help me?

Transmission is done. Nothing electronic will cause that, only mechanical

your 2nd and 3rd shift solenoid are stuck open or closed and your over shift solenoid is the same

1st and 3rd gear only sounds like a broken sun shell he should feel bad... The only real issue on those 96 97 transmissions is the solenoid resistance values so swap ur solenoids with the one u want to put in and it will work fine if u do ur home work first.. U got to know why they wont work thats how u find cheats... But first and third sounds like a stripped or sheared shell...was reverse gone to

sounds like you have a broken sun shell inside of the transmission, you will have to have the transmission removed, and repaired, or replaced unfortunately. the sun shell is a common failure in these and has been redesigned

Common problem back in the day was linning falling off low/reverse clutches. You can confirm this by driving in manual low a ways and feeling what is called engine braking ( where the engine holds back on a coast). If you have engine braking then you have some other problem I have never seen. I cut my teeth fixing these transmissions and when they would not back up it was always a reverse clutch problem exept the ones that would not shift and had no reverse and it was a stripped sun gear shell.Good luck!

It sounds like the sun shell inside the transmission that is faulty, and that is due to a manufacturing process..
Unfortunately, this problem requires a rebuild or replacement of the transmission. The same thing happened to me about a month ago with my 97 Blazer. It cost me $1200.00 for a local transmission shop to rebuild mine.
"The "sun shell" connects the reverse input drum to the sun gear. The 2/4 band wraps around the reverse drum. When the reverse clutches are applied the sun shell spins the sun gear. When the 2/4 band is applied the sun shell holds the sun gear from spinning. This is why when it breaks you lose reverse, second and fourth"

that is because this is a either a linkage problem to shift column on transmission or just maybe the transmission has to be replaced. maybe all you need is a shift kit. try that ok?

this is pretty common with the 4l60e transmission, when the sun shell breaks you will lose reverse and fourth gear, the only remedy is to replace the transmssion or have it repaired, the repair will require the transmission be removed and disassembled, you will need to purchase a new sun shell (get a heavy duty replacement) and a papper rubber kit for the repair, the kit costs about $80.00 and the new sun shell is about $65.00, just find a good trans guy to provide the labor.

Is reverse the only thing you loose? 1-2-3-4 O.K

If the fluid is dark, burnt , or has metal or dark clutch material.
The transmission has a burnt up clutches ,the sun shell in most cases with this transmission is the cause of failure inside.The sun shell holds the clutches and steels in place . When the sun shell breaks the transmission is loosing pressure inside. Then the clutch are not engaging . This is why the transmission is slipping This is a very common problem with this vehicle. The sensors/ soleniods are located in the valve body of the transmision. There are some cases where a transmission shop can tighten the sun shell or bands. This could be a temporary fix, The best thing to do is have the transmission replaced or rebuilt at your local transmission repair shop
