My horn stopped working - what do i do? - 1997 Pontiac Sunfire

when pushing on the horn pad you may hear a click noise this tells you the circuit is good from the horn pad to the horn relay and out to the horn. find the horn and check for power at the horn terminal when the horn pad is pushed. if it lights up then replace the horn. if it doesn`t then you will have to check for a wire problem from the horn back to the relay. but horns are usually the problem.

BLOWN FUSE.. DID WINDOWS STOP WORKING ALSO? OR WIPERS FOR THE HORN HAS SEVERAL ITEMS ON THAT SAME FUSE... OR THE WIRE CAME OFF THE HORN.. BEEN DOWN BUMPY ROAD/ ROUGH DIRT ROADS/ WASH BOARD ROADS/? IF SO THEN THE WIRE CAME OFF THE HORN..

Sounds like the horn has packed up ?? could be wrong but try a test wire to it see if it still works

Someone would need to test the relay and the circuits it controls.
The horn pad grounds the relay to make the horn blow.

you will need to remove air bag from steering wheel wire for horn is behind it

i would check the fuse first, if the fuse is not blown take a feed direct from the battery and use it to test the horn, if the horn still doesnt work then replace the horn , if it does then its probably the horn ring , but i would suspect that its the horn unit

you may have bad horn, take a test light and see if power is going to horn when horn is pushed, if theres power going to it then you have a bad horn,if theres no power to it then check the horn relay. but il bet if the fuse is good then the horns are bad.

With test light check voltage at horn assembly on both wire's, could only have one, horn assembly itself could be ground, have some one press horn button while checking, if there is voltage replace horn assembly, if no voltage horn pad at streeing wheel bad. that's being fuse and replay are good.

brakes need adjustment. horn is not related.

actual horn broken , get a new horn a fit it
