1987 s10 blazer will start sometimes.Sometimes it will crank for a while ,then it will crank and feel like it ran out of fuel .Replaced fuel pu mp last year . cannot hear hum of pump ,but the truck starts.

Check Static Fuel Pressure engine off , Should be about 10 to 13 psi this will determine if Fuel Pressure Regulator is faulty , if pressure is bleeding off it will be hard starting... If you find a bad regulator then replace it with new... Bleed pressure off by removing fuel tank filler cap and by releiveing it at the fuel rail before the TBI unit....

- Adding to my post, Question ? Did you replace the in-line fuel filter in front of gas tank ? If you only changed the fuel pump but did not replace the fuel filter at the same time you may have caused premature wear on the new fuel pump shortening the life of the new pump. Preform a fuel pressure test at the inline filter inlet or just opt to install a new fuel filter and see if it makes a difference. If not you may have a faulty fuel pump...
