I have a 95 Lexus ES 300 and about 2 years ago, the passenger side window won't go down. Just this past year, the door wouldn't open from the outside either, only from the inside. What's wrong and how much do you think it'll cost to get fixed? I'm a girl and I don't want to go to a shop paying twice as much as I should be paying... If you could give me accurate info, that'd be great :)
Usually dust gets into the lock mechanism (if you travel dirt roads) and causes the door latch to be very hard to operate. If the door interior panel is removed, the window mechanism is exposed and also the door latch can be removed for service or replacement. Usually, most shops just bolt in new parts--no repairs of originals. You don't have the right car to get much sympathy from most shops.
The passenger window is either the switch or the motor is bad, price these jobs at a repair shop.
the door will probably cost you around $100/200 to fix
