Rear brake shoe replacement on a 98 chevy 3500 dually

If you have drums on the rer yes you do have to remove the axle its simple though you unbolt the 6-8 bolts on the end of the axle then it just simply slides out thats it there mite be some resistance but there isnt anything else holding it in. and you dont have to worry about putting it back into the same spot eather just slide it back in and line up the drum.

Check the headlight switch. The power goes from the fuse to the headlight switch and then to the dash and running lights.

2001 Chevy Silverado 3500 6.0L V8 4x4 Dually, I replaced the power steering pump about 2 months ago, now I have power steering fluid leaking from underneath drivers side dash and carpet is saturated, also...

This sounds like the hydroboost unit is leaking.behind the master cylinderThe braking system on this using the power steering pump to provide power assisted brakes instead of a brake booster. The hydroboost unit most likely needs replaced.

You should be able to just slack the brakes off and pull the drum. They aren't heavy.
