I have a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer LTZ, Just hit 80,000 never had a problem yet. Recently service engine light came on and now when i go to accelerate, their is almost like an idling sound before changes gears. Any comments?
Have it scanned and see if there isn't a trans code. If it is spinning out between gears that is called slippage. There is not much you can do since there are no adjustments. The only thing that it could be other than the trans itself is a problem with the TPS, Throttle Position Sensor, and if that is defective and you don't repair it right away you can do serious damage to the trans. (almost 30 years rebuilding trans and 4 of them directly for GM. I know the 4l60e extremely well) Do not drive this if it is slipping. Hope this helps.
