Distributor under the rotor and cap, if not the rotor and cap (or ignition pack-coil if its not cap and rotor.)

1993 Chevrolet Lumina APV hesitates and dies when in gear

When it stops running and will not start back up, you'll need to figure out if you are lacking spark or fuel pressure to proceed with testing.

My friend just changed the sparkplug wires because the plugs were split and the wires are dry rotted out. he changed the wires and plugs, upon trying to start the car the motor would turn over but wont...

First he needs to verify that they are on correctly. Did it run bad before? did he "guess" thats what the problem was? is it worse now, than it was before? The coils should be marked as to what cylinder they go to. I could send a diagram, but dont know what engine you have? the rear cylinders are 1 3 5

Whats firing order on 1993chevy lumina

The firing order happens to be 1-2-3-4-5-6.
When looking at the front of the van, #1 is on the left towards the rear. #2 is on the left towards the front, #3 is in the middle rear, and so on.

Hope this helps, and best of luck!

Hesitation , skipping, engine cuts out when accelerating

Im having the same issue I believe. I have a 94\' Chevy 1500 and when i accelerate it will jerk like the gas has cut out but it wont stall. It just jerks and slows me down. It only seems to do it when going up a hill. I feel like it could be the fuel pump or possibly some intake gaskets?

My 1993 Toyota Celica GT hesitates upon Acceleration

did they change the fuel filter??? if so then i would check to see if you have a miss in one of your cylinders this can be chacked as easy as turning your car on and going around the the muffler and listening to see if it makes a funny noise something like a low cough nothing loud just a little cough. if you cant hear anything like that take it in to a mechanic and have then check the pressure in each one of your cylinders
if it is not either one of those that i am not sure either hope it helps
