If this happens only on a single door, then the door switch that operates the door lock is broken, or its wiring is bad.
To fix the problem the door panel must be removed to replace the switch or the whole door lock assembly.
Testimonial: "it took 2-3 hours then the wd 40 did it's job thanks."
The only way to fix it is by removing door panel and seeing what is going on. The door lock can work both mechanically or electrically. If the door does not even open with the handle the problem is mechanic.
If you have a child lock switch on single door , ensure that the child lock is not on.
If the door does not even open with the handle , then it is a mechanical problem and door lock must be repaired or replaced. If the door opens with handle but not with key or remote, then it is the door switch.
Yep, I told you the problem was mechanical.
Nice to know you fixed.

Hello. it sounds like your door lock may be corroded. Go to any auto parts store and get an aerosol can of a product called WD40. Squirt three quick squirts into the problem lock and wait 30 minutes for the chemical to work. Then try the key.

My 1992 Chevy Lumina Door on the drivers side will not unlock. I have tried the power door lock. The handle inside and outside and the keys. I also remove the door panel to manually pull on the lock arm, but the lock will not release. How can I get the door to unlock/
The lock switch opens the door on the passenger side but not the drivers side. My problem is that the door will not open so it is very hard to do any thing to fix the problem. I've tried to use WD 40 that didn't work. I've open the door panel to see if every thing in the panel was connected. I manually tried to apply pressure on the arm in the panel to open the lock. What can I doo more when the door doesn't open
Problem solved, sprayed wd 40 in every crack near the lock inside the door panel and it took about two hours to work its way in to the lock. I found the lubricant in the latch of the door. Thanks for the help.
