The plug on the bottom is for fluid removal, plug on side of the gearbox is for fill. You will need either a really long tube to fill from the top, or I use a siphon pump to fill from below. Fill til it comes out.

How do I check a gearbox on my manual 1999 Audi a4 quarto 1.8

there should be 2 places where you can fill the gear oil and drain the gear oil they are most likely allen wrench fittings make sure you remove the filler one first because if you take the drain plug out first and cant get the filler plug out you are screwed.

I need to know where the thermostat is located for the Audi A8 V8 4.2 Quattro Automatic 2006

The thermostat is located in front of the engine, between V cylinder banks, for Audi A8 V8 4.2 Quattro Automatic. See pictures below:

Remove the thermostat housing (2 bolts) and the old thermostat. Note the orientation of the old thermostat (vent valve facing UP). Clean both thermostat housing and block surfaces and remove all traces of old gasket material. Install the new thermostat vent valve facing UP.

Please do rate my response. Thanks!

I1995 audi a6 quattro ignition switch does not return automatically to start position - i have to manually turn the key back 1/4 turn. can this be fixed, lubed or something?

Some can be repaired the first thing is to try a little wd40 in the key hole and work key in ignition, the spring back action is done by the switch not the ignition cylinder locjk, but if the lock binds up it will cause it not to return, so start with the lube, after a few days if it still doesnt return then remove covers and replace the switch on the back of key switch. hope this helps, most of the time the lube works.

How do you remove axles on a 2000 hyundai accent?

Very carefully. 1. Loosen the wheel nuts slightly. 2. Raise the front of the vehicle, and support it with safety stands in a proper location. 3. Remove the wheel nuts and front wheel. 02590df.jpg 4. Remove the split pin, the castle nut and the washer from the front hub. 5. Drain the transmission fluid before the driveshaft is removed. 6. Using a plastic hammer, make the driveshaft disconnected from the axle hub.
1817034.jpg 7. Push the axle hub outward and separate the driveshaft from the axle hub. 8. Insert a pry bar between the transaxle case and the tripod joint case, and pry the driveshaft from the transaxle case.
4d4e228.jpg caution_icon_eng.gif Be sure to apply the pry bar to the rib of the transaxle case. Do not insert the pry bar too deeply, as this may cause damage to the oil seal. [max. depth : 7 mm (0.28 in.)] For automatic transaxle equipped vehicles, insert a pry bar into the groove of the driveshaft to remove the driveshaft from the transaxle. Do not pull on the driveshaft; the joints may come apart. Be sure to use the pry bar. 9. Pull out the driveshaft from the transaxle case. caution_icon_eng.gif Place a plug in the hole of the transaxle case to prevent contamination Support the driveshaft properly. Replace the circlip each time the driveshaft is removed from the transaxle case.
