1995 ford auto trans slipping

I have a 1995 ford 150 with a straight 6 the trans has 1, 2, drive, and od on the shifter. It at times slips or will not catch after coming to a stop. Usually by either turning the truck off or putting it in park then back to drive will get me going again. I also get the flashing od light, sometimes it remains on and other times it will go out after some drving. Also it works fine manually shifting through the gears most of the time. I need to identify the probelm and the trans for a replacement or rebuild any help would be great. Thanks

I would say that the valve body probally has a crack in it need to chang trans should have a c-6 trannny

have you told any of the tranny places of problem when they were replacing or working on vehicle ---has the tcm been tested ---and scan for any trouble codes

Have a 1995 ford explorer.had transmission rebuilt about 6months ago and have had problems since.tran.shop said it was speedometer sensor so I had it changed.ran good for about 8hours then speedometer...

take it back the transmission shop it is under warranty for at lease a year. they did not do a good job. the shop to replace the speed sensor when they was rebuilding the transmission

Trans slips when the trans warms up

Sounds like you have definitely an internal problem in the transmission if its slipping ...

It could have an electrical issue as well like a faulty PCM .

How could the mechanic say its fine if it slips.....
I would start by going to a different shop/mechanic and have them scan the data to see whats going on electrically..but i would think at this mileage and with it slipping you're probably going to be looking at an overhaul/replacement transmission.

The timing chain and balancing chain on my 1995 900 SE convertible were just replaced. After picking up the car, the car started slipping out of gear both in reverse and drive. At times it it seems like...

You don't say if this is a manual or automatic trans-but when the work was done. a cable that adjusts the shifter to the trans itself was probably removed and may not have been reinstalled properly-so I would suggest that did the work check those connections and adjustments, and you should not drive it in that condition as it will no doubt damage your trans, very expensive.

Transmission started slipping in final drive.

I am a ford tech and once this transmission starts slipping in OD u are going to need an overhaul, changing the fluid won't correct the problem.

I have an automatic trans mission that doesnt go

The forward gears slip but dose the reversr gear slip as well if not your problem is either the forward band is worn out ,,,,or the forward pump is playing up and also it could be the thing that starts it all off is the filter in the auto sump is clogged up with metal or drive band dust is the colour of the auto oil dark or dirty..
When was the trans oil last changed.

Transmission shifts ony 123 no overdrive, it slip in overdrive

sorry to say this trans has to be removed and rebuilt seems like od clutches burnt out-do you tow heavy trailer with truck as you have to tow with od off(push button on shifter)

once it slips that is the end, the trans direct clutch opack is worn out and the trans must be overhauled.

1994 F350 transmission intermittent problem

I had the same problem in my 96 f-350. The transmission has slipped recording a slip code in the transmission. You can pull the codes and get it. I shifts into a safe mode that increases the pressure inside your transmission as part od a fail safe. Plain and simple, you have to have the tranny rebuilt.

you may have damaged the overdrive gear, a local transmission shop would be your best bet. for good troubleshoting and estimate.
